Underground heating for TSV Steinbach Haiger
Advert bei HET Elastomertechnik
In the summer of 2024, the stadium of TSV Steinbach Haiger in Hesse received a new pitch, along with a new underground heating system. This substantial investment in the Haarwasen Haiger Sports Center serves as a forward-looking measure in preparation for a potential promotion to the third division. At present, the club competes in the Regionalliga Südwest.
The INTERGREEN partner company Schmitt provided expert support to the club throughout the project – from the earthworks to the final line-marking with the line-marking robot. Before the installation of the heating system, the existing turf, soil, and drainage layers were carefully removed. The subsoil was prepared, and in accordance with DIN standards, a layer of lava was applied. This layer has an insulating effect due to its low thermal conductivity. The conventional surface heating system for sports pitches was then installed by a specialist company. The heating pipes were covered with a gravel-sand mixture, also according to DIN standards.
To ensure the stadium could be used again quickly, ready-made turf was laid – but only after a new turf-bearing layer had been installed. Following four weeks of post-installation maintenance, the first line-markings were applied automatically with the line-marking robot.
High standards will also apply to future maintenance: mechanical deep loosening could damage the piping system. Therefore, deep loosening using compressed air is recommended.
We wish TSV Steinbach Haiger every success in their upcoming matches.
