Our Mission

We believe that active living is a fundamental human right and need that enriches the lives of people of different cultures, nations, languages and genders.

We are committed to championing for sustainable and high-quality indoor and outdoor sports and leisure facilities that are fully inclusive, universally accessible and socially relevant.

A worldwide network of experts 

The IAKS network brings together everyone involved in the planning, design, construction, and operation of sports and leisure facilities.

The idea is to foster meaningful exchange among all stakeholders, share knowledge, encourage innovative thinking, and explore new paths together. We do this by creating opportunities for people to connect in diverse ways – through events, publications, our sb magazine, and webinars.

But this network only thrives when it is shaped and driven by dedicated, passionate members. You can be part of it!

Also, we collaborate with international organizations like the IPC to promote active and meaningful lifestyles and transform communities and urban areas into places of active living. IAKS is furthermore recognized by the IOC as official partner.
